sanctuary

to view from the moon, the earth is beautiful
a blue swirl, a pearl
in the oyster shell of sky
up close and personal
can look more like a living hell
a tidepool of tragedy and greed

whenever you feel too cynical
go to the aquarium and watch fish swim
whenever you feel unfortified
go outside and watch the sky

a sanctuary. life is very full of giving trees
we the keepers need to care for every bird and bee

touch tone the mobile phone
I try to reach St. Joan
I admire her backbone and I have some questions
Where does all the beauty go?
Where to the brave souls?
I want to hear what St. Joan would do about tomorrow

its a burning situation
trees fall without a sound
to a certain destination
poison bodies in a poison ground

a sanctuary. life is very full of giving trees
we the keepers need to care for every bird and bee
sanctuary life is scary, huge to say the least
we the seekers and believers plant the seeds of peace

raindrops sound like be-bop
underneath the big blue top
if you dare to see
the majesty is non-stop
when you need a way to cope
dress your head in shades of hope
a blue swirl, a pearl, an infinite kaleidascope

a sanctuary. life is very full of giving trees
we the keepers need to care for every bird and bee
sanctuary life is scary, huge to say the least
we the seekers and believers plant the seeds of peace
